Hey folks,

What do you think about Russian Ruble? Oil prices go up, Trump softens its stance towards Russia, their currency looks undervalued... taking long on it makes sense or better to wait for clearer signals?
Any replies are appreciated.

Hi,

Ive been a member for a while but just forgotten to post :) I generally swing trade part time from home . Various markets but never forex.

Ive been an Alan Farlay fan for a while but recently picked up John Carters 2nd Edition of " Mastering the Trade" It seems knowledgable with some good ideas on setups and risk management.

However like Farlay he has a commercial website. Is he just another example of a mediocre trader making money selling information to "newbies" or is he for real and worth listening to ?

Formula for theoretical options returns

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a formula that if given a stock return scenario, it would give you a potential option return? One must exist because many trading program can give you this information live. I am looking to use this in historical data returns in Excel.

For example. XYZ went up 0.45% during the a time period of the day. Is there a formula where I would enter some variables for the option (days trading left, time value, IV, etc) where I would see the potential outcome?

As it is the first post I will set out the simple rules of this important competition of Titans !

Sharky has kindly offered $500 in prizes for 2017 that's split $100 each quarter plus another $100 for the overall year winner.

No change to the rules:
Rules of WEEKLY competition of S&P 500 cash
Objective of the game is to predict the weekly-Friday closing number for the SPX-500 Cash index.

1. 1 point for getting direction correct from previous Friday close
2. Having got direction right then:-
a/ 3 points for nearest
b/ 2 points for second nearest
c/ 1 point for third nearest
3. All entries should be in by weekly opening session of US markets
