Does anyone know of any brokerages that allow the purchase of government bonds from countries like Russia, Brazil or Greece? Also, when purchasing such bonds, is it best to purchase through a brokerage or are there better options?
Also, why is it that even the 1 year maturity bonds of some of these countries with yields as high as 6%-9% are not any more popular? Is it due to the high inflation rate or is it other factors?
