BITCOIN PRICE ANALYSIS

After an impressive rally and consolidation at the first resistance zone of $9200 – $9300, Bitcoin broke above to our next mention targets of $9400.
Bitcoin will soon have to face a crucial resistance line, the yellow descending line on the following 4-hour chart. So far, Bitcoin had seen five failed attempts to break above this line.
he $9600 is now the first resistance, while the major one will be the yellow line on the following 4-hour chart (around $9700).

Loss aversion trading

Traders often close positions to avoid a loss ,they take small profits in fear of a larger loss , they put on revenge trades to recover losses , they add to losing positions to average down , they hold on to losing positions , they convert positions into options trades to avoid taking a loss.

Loss aversion traders lose more in trying to avoid losses.

In economics and decision theory, loss aversion refers to people's tendency to prefer avoiding losses to acquiring equivalent gains: it's...

Group chat for UK traders

Hi all, it's been awhile since I logged here and posted anything.

I created a WhatsApp group for UK based traders, ideally like traders with some experience to join and someone who can contribute towards occasional discussions, not keen on anyone who sends 50+ message in space of 30 mins.

If you fit the bill, send me a private message for group link invite.

Best wishes.

Hot forex

has anyone used hot forex?

http://www.hotforex.com/

the only thing that's putting me off is they are based in Mauritius (and regulated there) and have found little in the way of reviews. however they offer great spreads, are ECN and have a 20% bonus.

or can anyone recommend a broker (for forex mainly) which is ECN, has tight spreads (EU no more then 1 pip, GU no more then 2 pips) are regulate (i'm in UK and would idealy like it to be the same) and preferably offer some sort of...

Plane-spotting in comfort

This is a thread where T2W people are invited to post up interesting spots on flightradar24.com.

I mentioned the site the other day and got some Likes. The current suspension of so much scheduled air traffic has made the unusual over-flights easier to see (though there are fewer of them).

This might turn out to be the most anorakkie thing I've ever done, feel free to laugh, I can take it. Anyway here's what I see that's interesting right now, concentrating on the UK and especially the SW -...

Trading Options on Breakouts?

Hey traders, wondering if I might get a little "guidance" from someone who "knows the ropes" on how to trade options on breakouts... someone who does it and is good at it.

I'm trying to get my arms around the best kind of option strategy to use (in the money or how far out of the money calls?) or maybe a spread (married put? bullish debit spread, something else?) to initiate for trading breakouts when volatility is high.

Why breakouts?

I'm an experienced futures trader and...

Finally, in profit territory...

Hi there. Finally it happened to me. They say it takes 4-5 years to learn to trade profitably, and that seems to be right in my case. I have been profitable for about 9-10 months now, but more and more so every month. And 2 months ago I for the first time withdrew money from ETX where I trade, almost £12,000. Really nice compared to constantly putting money into the account.

Those that have read my posts will know that my way of trading is about recognizing patterns, propose a theory, and...

Strategies / Applications Behind The 50-Day Exponential Moving Average (EMA)

The 50-day moving average marks a line in the sand for traders holding positions through inevitable drawdowns. The strategy we employ when price nears this inflection point often decides whether we walk away with a well-earned profit or a frustrating loss. Considering the consequences, it makes sense to improve our understanding about this price level, as well as finding new ways to manage risk when it comes into play.
Formula
The most common formula takes the last 50 price...

Been made personally bankrupt - can I still trade?

As the title suggests really, only trade very small amounts (<£1000pm capital), but want to continue to do so.

Use Plus500 at the minute, will they close my account if they search insolvency records? Or do they not look?

DJ: I keep coming back

Hey folks,

Can any of you give me advice on getting mixer for my PC?
Maybe some DJ software too?

I Dj'd from age 14 to 20 and love it.
I went a bit off the rails then and lost track of myself.

I am now after speaking with a few local DJ's in England (Ireland scene back in the EARLY 2000's being much different).
I understand that my music then, maybe not be THE music now... but nontheless... I need a decent mixer and software that can handle a mere dual channel style... nothing fancy...

Predicting future FX support and resistance levels using mathematics

Hi Everyone, My name is Graham and I am a mathematician here in Canada.

There are lots of different technical analysis methods to determine future support and resistance levels. They can be subjective and depend upon experience. I have been wondering whether support and resistance levels can be determined mathematically and now have a working algorithm I call the Volatility Response Model (VRM).

The VRM calculates future support and resistance levels either one day ahead or one week...

Climate Change

Glad to see the world's top politicians are meeting in Paris to try and stop global warming before it spirals out of control.

China is the worst polluter. Their President has understood the problem but warned that it will get worse. Well that's great. Perhaps they should consider hydro electric power from all those wet mountains ?

Apparently a barrage across the Severn estuary would power up 1/3 0f this country for ever. Not hard to work out what 3 barrages would accomplish then.

What's the hardest thing to do?

What is the rule of trading that you find the hardest to follow?

Taking trades you shouldn't?
Not sticking to the 2% rule?
Not averaging down?
Not doing trades for small stakes just to keep you entertained?
Walking away after a win/loss streak?

Any others?

Intraday breakouts with targets

My new approach is a breakout strategy using the height of the pattern to calculate entry, stop and target.

Markets:
EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/USD, USD/CHF, USD/CAD, GBP/JPY, EUR/CHF, EUR/GBP, FTSE100, DOW, S&P, CAC, DAX, Brent, WTI, Gold, Silver, Bitcoin Cash and perhaps some others.

Approach:
Looking to trade the breakout of support/resistance of ascending/descending triangles and hold survivors until end of week with the goal of catching a "trend week" (imagine a marubozu on...

Any Gamers?

Any of you weirdos gamers?

I recently had a custom gaming rig built and have been totally geeking out since!

Must have bought 15 or so games...

Currently waiting on Assassin's Creed Revelations end credits to go away (annoyed that Ubisoft dont allow is to skip). I'm a big AC fan! The stories are amazing. Bit sad that this is the end of the Ezio story, but looking forward to evolution of the franchise.

What games are you currently playing? Or past favourites?

How to increase the score by 1000 times

How to increase the score by 1000 times. I managed to go almost half the way to this goal. The result for four months was increased by 28 times. It remains to increase the score by another 35 times and the goal would be achieved. Indeed, it beckons so, I opened an account in the account of $ 10 and in a year you have $ 10,000. Here is my report
Gross Profit: 423.21 Gross Loss: 151.95 Total Net Profit: 271.26
Profit Factor: 2.79 Expected Payoff: 0.95
Absolute Drawdown: 1.34 Maximal Drawdown...

How do you know when you *shouldn't* be trading?

Hi all,

I'm new here but I've been trading for a bit now. I wanted to get some advice on how to know when I shouldn't be trading. Looking back on past experiences, there are a few times I've executed a trade that just had no reason to be executed. I was sleep-deprived / having relationship issues / stressed / etc... and made a bad call. Sometimes it's just because I was in a fog for that day.

How do you guys assess when you shouldn't be trading? Is it something you do through...
